Evaluating the confidence-building measures aimed at improving the daily lives of the Turkish Cypriots announced by the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides, KTÖS Secretary General Burak Maviş said that they are just for show and insincere.
“If he is sincere then he should come together with Turkish Cypriot democratic mass organizations, chambers, unions, and political parties and announce the confidence-building measures according to real needs.” Maviş was cited as saying.
In a written statement, Burak Maviş pointed out that Nikos Christodoulides’ measures cannot go further than being just a show, as he is probably preparing a scene before the arrival of Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar, the personal envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Cyprus.
